Isle I Do: Wedding Planning 101

Wedding Planning 101
You've got a wedding to plan and we've got the pointers to help
Oh My Gosh, he proposed and you said yes….Hurray!!!!! Now engagement pressure is off and you two can relax until the wedding day, right….Wrong!
Planning a wedding can be pretty stressful for both the bride and groom. It’s like a dramatic rollercoaster ride filled with ups, downs and loop de loops. But, although it’s a pretty time consuming task, it’s not Mission Impossible. So turn off that Tom Cruise DVD and take up a pen and notebook because you got a wedding to plan and we got the pointers to help.
Assemble a Planning Team
You need to get a team of your most dependable friends together and network. Talk about everything, who do they know, how can they help, what can they do, this gets the ball rolling and sometimes you can get your biggest issues resolved right there. But, remember you and your fiancé are the project managers and you don’t need to comply with their every suggestion.
Blaze Your Own Trail
Sometimes families have silly or embarrassing wedding traditions (cake smashing, throwing rice, etc) but remember that it’s your day. Traditions are highly overrated, they don’t improve the quality of your wedding ceremony nor do they strengthen your relationship as a couple, if you wish to leave them out, no problem.
Be Creative
You can come up with your own traditions. Do something unique, that no other couple has done. Bounce any ideas that you have off of your fiancé and see what he thinks because it could be the start of something spectacular.
Have Fun
You gotta enjoy yourself when you are planning a wedding, try to keep the stress on a low level. Start at least a year before the wedding date and do the most important things first (the bride’s dress, the guests list and the invitations). So that when the date gets closer you only have to worry about the things like “When will this be over so we can get to the honeymoon”, so just love every moment, because you deserve it.
